PC plastic-name

Chinese name: Polycarbonate

English name: Polycarbonate

PC plastic properties

Specific gravity: 1.18-1.20 g/cm3

Mold shrinkage: 0.5-0.8%

Molding temperature: 230-320

Drying condition: 110-120 for 8 hours, can be used for a long time at -60~120

PC Plastic-Brief

PC polycarbonate is a non-crystalline engineering material with particularly good impact strength, thermal stability, gloss, antibacterial properties, flame retardant properties and pollution resistance.

The notched Izod impact stregth of PC is very high, and the shrinkage rate is very low, generally 0.1%~0.2%.

PC has good mechanical properties, but poor flow characteristics, so the injection molding process of this material is more difficult. When choosing the quality of PC materials, the final expectations of the product should be used as the benchmark.

If the plastic parts require high impact resistance, then use a low flow rate PC material; on the contrary, you can use a high flow rate PC material, which can optimize the injection molding process.

PC Plastic-Performance

Material properties

High impact strength, good dimensional stability, colorless and transparent, good colorability, good electrical insulation, corrosion resistance, wear resistance, but poor self-lubricity, stress cracking tendency, easy hydrolysis at high temperature, poor compatibility with other resins . Suitable for making small instrument parts, transparent insulation parts and impact-resistant parts.

Moldability

1. Amorphous material, good thermal stability, wide molding temperature range, poor fluidity. Hygroscopic, but sensitive to water, it must be dried. The molding shrinkage rate is small, and it is prone to melt cracking and stress concentration, so the molding conditions should be strictly controlled, and the plastic parts must be annealed.

2. Plastic parts with high melting temperature and high viscosity, greater than 200g, should use heated extension nozzles.

3. The cooling speed is fast, the mold pouring system is based on the principle of thick and short, cold material well should be set, the gate should be large, and the mold should be heated.

4. The material temperature is too low will cause material shortage, plastic parts are matt, the material temperature is too high and easy to overflow, plastic parts blisters. When the mold temperature is low, the shrinkage, elongation, and impact strength are high, and the bending resistance, compression resistance, and tensile strength are low. When the mold temperature exceeds 120 degrees, the plastic parts cool slowly, and the mold is easy to deform and stick

PC plastic use

Optical lighting: used to manufacture large lampshades, protective glass, left and right eyepiece tubes of optical instruments, etc., and can also be widely used in transparent materials on aircraft.

Electronic appliances: Polycarbonate is an excellent E (120 ) grade insulating material, used to manufacture insulated connectors, coil frames, tube sockets, insulating sleeves, telephone housings and parts, battery shells for miner's lamps, etc. It can also be used to produce parts with high dimensional accuracy, such as compact discs, telephones, electronic computers, video recorders, telephone switches, signal relays and other communication equipment. Polycarbonate thin film is also widely used as capacitors, insulating leather bags, audio tapes, color video tapes, etc.

Mechanical equipment: used to manufacture various gears, racks, worm gears, worms, bearings, cams, bolts, levers, crankshafts, ratchets, and can also be used as parts of mechanical equipment shells, covers and frames.

Medical equipment: Cups, canisters, bottles, dental instruments, medicine containers and surgical instruments that can be used for medical purposes, and even artificial organs such as artificial kidneys and lungs.

Other aspects: used as double-walled hollow siding in building, glass for heating house, etc.; used as textile bobbin, bearing of textile machine, etc. in the textile industry; used for baby bottles, tableware, toys and models in daily use.

ABS

ABS plastic-name

Chemical name: Acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymer

English name: Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene

ABS plastic properties

The density is 1.10g/cm3ABS

Melting point is about 170, decomposition temperature is 260

ABS Plastic-Overview

ABS resin is currently the largest and most widely used polymer. It unifies the various properties of PS, SAN, and BS organically, and has excellent mechanical properties of toughness, rigidity, and rigid phase balance. ABS is a terpolymer of acrylonitrile, butadiene and styrene, A represents acrylonitrile, B represents butadiene, and S represents styrene.

ABS plastic-performance

General performance

The appearance of ABS is opaque and ivory-colored pellets, and its products can be colored colorfully and have high gloss. The relative density of ABS is about 1.05, and the water absorption rate is low. ABS has good combination with other materials, and is easy to surface print, coat and plate. ABS has an oxygen index of 18 to 20 and is a flammable polymer. The flame is yellow, with black smoke, and emits a special cinnamon smell. A

Mechanical properties

ABS has excellent mechanical properties, excellent impact strength, and can be used at extremely low temperatures; ABS has excellent wear resistance, good dimensional stability, and oil resistance, and can be used for bearings under moderate loads and speeds. ABS has greater creep resistance than PSF and PC, but less than PA and POM. The bending strength and compressive strength of ABS are poor among plastics. The mechanical properties of ABS are greatly affected by temperature.

Thermal performance

The heat distortion temperature of ABS is 93~118, and the product can be increased by about 10 after annealing treatment. ABS can still show a certain toughness at -40 , can be used in the temperature range of -40 ~ 100 . A

Electrical performance

ABS has good electrical insulation and is almost unaffected by temperature, humidity and frequency, and can be used in most environments. Environmental performance ABS is not affected by water, inorganic salts, alkalis and various acids, but it is soluble in ketones, aldehydes and chlorinated hydrocarbons
